Amazon Lifesavers Ministry, an OCI member in Brazil, needs your prayers. This weekend the Amazon Lifesavers team, along with a group of volunteers, was staying on one of their mission boats while visiting a small village for a few days. After spending an encouraging Sabbath in the village, the crew anchored the boat about 600 feet from shore, and everyone went to bed. In the middle of the night, a strong wind suddenly blew in and capsized the boat. Twenty people were on board and all were rescued except for one of the Brazilian volunteers, who was trapped inside. They were also unable to recover the boat.
Please pray for the family of the volunteer and for the entire Amazon Lifesavers team as they turn to the Comforter and Healer during this difficult time. The loss of the boat is also a blow to the program, but they trust that God has a plan for His work along in the Amazon.
Communication with Amazon Lifesavers Ministry is difficult at the moment, so please contact the OCI office if you have any questions: info@outpostcenters.org or 423.236.5600.
