Fanantenana is located on the Island of Madagascar off the eastern coast of Africa, and has a vision of training young people to do medical missionary work and to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
From all over the country students come to be trained in the Medical Missionary Program. A one year course is offered instructing students in Bible, health, hydrotherapy, massage, evangelism, healthful cooking, hygiene, child care, sewing, and gardening. There is also a Midwifery course for women.
We thank the Lord for the new bakery equipment! The students have the opportunity to be trained in all bakery activities, along with drying bananas and pineapples for export to Europe.
Door to door and village to village evangelism is being done resulting in the establishment of new branch Sabbath schools. Last year more than 20 people were baptized. We are very proud of our former students who have taken up the torch. Some have stayed to work with us in our door to door work, while others are doing evangelism in unentered areas. Another couple are doing a successful medical missionary work in a very remote area.
Other outreach activities include sewing and agriculture classes for the villagers.
Madagascar is fast becoming one of the poorest countries in the world, and people are dying at home from a lack of medical care. Fanantenana's medical clinic will need outside help in order to continue buying and supplying medications. We cannot change the economy of the country, but we can try to be a blessing and bring relief to those around us.
"I must work the works of Him who sent me, while it is still day; the night cometh, when no man can work." (John 9:4)
