Restore a Child (formerly Reaching Hearts for Kids) was founded to spread the gospel to poor and orphaned children. The ministry currently supports more than 3,000 children in 13 countries and has celebrated 70 baptisms so far.
One of Restore’s most exciting projects involves working with Maasai children in Tanzania. Restore supports an orphanage with 35 children and is building a school to provide Adventist education for the entire community.
Restore is also working in Eastern Congo, which continues to be devastated by ongoing violence. In June 2009 Restore partnered with Afrikaert Hungary to send food, clothing, and medical supplies to the area. Additionally, Restore and ADRA Goma sponsor a children’s feeding program in the refugee camps.
The ministry also helps supply fuel efficient cookstoves to mothers in Zambia, which enables them to better provide for their children.
