Committed to fulfilling the great commission of Jesus Christ as given in Matthew 28:18-20, Living Springs Overseas Missions (LSOM) works in cooperation with the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Asia to spread the good news of the gospel. The staff strives to reach people for Christ, train them for evangelism, and assist them in their physical and economic needs.
LSOM’s Bible seminary and midwifery students receive a thorough training in Bible, health, and vocational skills. They receive practical experience in the field doing health fairs, health lectures, literature evangelism, and Bible studies. Upon completing their studies, they are prepared to go into the field as self-supporting medical missionaries. They enter areas where there is little or no Adventist presence to share the gospel message with those who are longing to be filled with His love. Many of LSOM’s seminary graduates have been hired by the church to work as pastors or evangelists, and a number of their 73 midwifery graduates are serving in many different areas.
LSOM seeks to meet physical needs through development ministries, such as its boarding schools for poor and orphaned children. The team endeavors to improve the lives of these children by providing them with a home and a solid, practical education. Older students learn trades like welding, carpentry, mechanics, cooking or sewing in order to support themselves and their families in the future. This will hopefully not only break the chain of poverty but also prepare them to be ready when Jesus comes.
